| Procedure |
| A cylindrical tube of uniform bore closed at one end, is made out of metal or ivory or wood. Mouth hole is pierced at a distance of ¾ inch from the closed end. 7-9 holes for finger are made in a straight line. 3 fingers of the left hand and 4 fingers of the right, close the seven finger holes, small fraction of a note is produced by the partial opening and closing of these holes, so flute belongs to the category Sushir Vadya [Wind Instrument]. |
